Dinner Views in Austin
P6 at LINE AUSTIN
I’ve been wanting to check out the Line Hotel for a while. I noticed it right away once moving back into Austin, last July. It sits near the Colorado River and is just off Congress Ave Bridge. One of Austin’s busiest roads when heading into downtown in the mornings. It reminds me of a honeycomb nest for bees. I had been scrolling through Do512’s page one day and typed in rooftop bars in Austin. P6 popped up so I kept it in mind for a future time to check out.
My birthday was this past Friday, but I decided to check out P6 on Saturday finally. On the first floor you’ll find the pool near the bar. The pool has a nice set up with plenty of couches for laying down. The sun was out, and the weather felt fresh. I felt the relaxation and thought we were back in Cali for a quick second while sitting down.
P6 is located past the pool but inside the hotel. There’s a long hallway you’ll follow before turning right toward the elevator. That elevator takes you up to P6.
Remember that spot out in Los Angeles called Perch. P6 reminds me of that spot. There both located in the downtown area but have an outdoor patio view that over-looks the city. L.A. has the skyscrapers But, P6 faces the Congress Ave Bridge instead.
I ordered the $80, Tier-Three plate because it included caviar and that was a first for me. I don’t think Mexicans eat that stuff anyway. Well, on Saturday I ate it. It was damn good. It tasted like fresh whipped butter the closer I got to finishing it.
I drank two shots of Maker’s Mark bourbon during my dinner because it was my birthday after all. The ice cube inside my glass had “LINE” etched into it. That was kind of cool. I’m all about trying to be flashy and making a presentation.
I’ll be back real soon for the mimosas. I sense a Sunday Funday coming along soon. This may be my new spot. Shout out to April for making my first experience an awesome one. The view is amazing.
