Underground Caverns

Underground Caverns

Inner Space Cavern Austin, TX

A co-worker of mine told me about these caverns as he used to visit them for fieldtrips in high school. I checked it out one weekend and it was well worth it for being under $20. Story goes that the Texas Highway Department core drilling team found it by accident back in the 1960’s.

I’m glad that they did because it’s awesome. It lays less than 50 feet underneath the highway and stretches for several hundreds of feet. You can hear water dripping as it slowly works its way from the surface above ground. Every now and then a bat will screech.

Thousands of years ago, as it rained in Georgetown, TX the rain seeped down into the earth and in the caverns. They crystallized forming long spikes so-to-speak.

Do not miss this! Down below you will see markings on the walls from various civilizations before our ancestor’s time.
