Early Morning Runs
Congress Bridge Bats in Austin, TX
I like to spend my early morning weekends running up and down this bridge. It has a great downtown and lake view when the sun is out.
Locate the YETI Flagship Store and park on that left-hand-side of the street. Sundays are free parking but that’s the perfect spot. Once Spring and Summer near, this bridge hosts the world’s largest bat colony right underneath it. It’s going to smell like guano (bat shit) heavily. You can hear the bats screeching louder and louder in October when they migrate until next year.
This is the best view of Austin.
