Coachella

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival

Our squad driving into Indio, CA went from Team Coachella, to Team Dehydration on the first day.

We’ve been at it for a while, raves and all. But unlike EDC, Coachella is an afternoon event with hardly any shade to sit under and temperatures reach 100 degrees by 9AM. You know when your sweat dries, and later you sweat over it, so it dries again for the second time after a hot day. That’s the best way to describe the conditions out in the valley.

Bring extra deodorant.

I went camping on site rather renting an Airbnb. Once the gates open it’s only a 5-minute walk into the festival from the campsite. At that point, you just go with the flow. Wonder around the grounds and catch the next set. You’ll see a lot of artwork which is great for Instagram.

The music ends by 1AM, so you won’t be pulling an all-nighter. I left Sunday morning and sold that portion of my wristband for almost half of my 3-day value. You should camp to avoid being stuck in traffic back to your AirBnb.

The shower stalls are legit. They each have hot and cold water. The stalls have privacy walls so you won’t see your neighbor.

The hardest part about Coachella was trying to get a buzz because it was so hot. Other than that, just bring a bandanna to cover your mouth and nose. You will be breathing in dirt without one. Check their website for upcoming artists.
