The Chainsmokers Concert

The Chainsmokers Tour Stop in Austin, TX

I had a chance to almost watch The Chainsmokers live at their residency a couple of years ago out in Las Vegas, NV. They were performing at XS Nightclub inside the Wynn.

Sadly, I waited until 2AM for them to perform but ended up leaving since it was late.

This time around, two years later they made a stop in Austin, so I gave them another shot. Right off the bat, they had me with their performance. The music was on point and I didn’t really sit down that night.

During their performance, the duo had instructed for a steel spherical cage be lowered down onto the stage from up above. Then out of nowhere, four motorcyclists drove on stage and into the sphere. They had a circus act going on for a couple of minutes. All the paid attendees were wondering if a bad crash was about to happen. All the motorcyclists avoided crashing into each other. Wow.

The drummer of Chainsmokers had a five-minute solo performance that involved pyrotechnics. The drums were set on fire while he drummed. I had never seen that before so that had my attention for sure. We all thought a fire broke out and he was unaware of it.

The best part about this whole experience was the friendly staff who worked this event, the concierge. Our tickets were originally up top and on the side of the venue. A staffer asked if we could see the stage clearly because if not there was a chance to be relocated.

So of course, we asked to be relocated and were kindly given tickets for the lower bowl section closer to the stage. I like to think that this performance was way better than the one in Las Vegas.
